  • San Francisco agrees to $5M medical malpractice settlement after unmonitored patient suffers cardiorespiratory failure and , if I’m reading it correctly,  flatlined for nine minutes.
  • More than half of US hospitals are insolvent or nearly so.

Fortunately it’s been a while since a case of catastrophic medical error, the Quaid children is the biggest recent story in that vein.
